How to Write a Strong Personal Statement
The key to obtaining your ideal university placement is to start early and complete plenty of research. Once you have narrowed your research down, it is incredibly important that you attend open days. The following website provides students with university and college open day information:
UCAS Process
During Tutor Time, Year 12 students, with support and guidance from their Tutor, complete research into the types of courses that they would like to consider at Higher Education level along with potential universities. Students are also directed to the Information Advice and Guidance section within our Learning Resource Centre.
Having completed a lot of research, the more formal UCAS process commences after the last AS modules in the final term when students return to start their Year 13 courses. Students are given access to the UCAS application online and tutor sessions to aid them in writing successful personal statements as well as hints and tips to completing the application form.

Parents/carers are invited to a UCAS Parent Information Evening in February. We highly recommend that all parents/carers attend in order to receive the latest, up-to-date information about applying to university, student finance, accommodation and how best to support your child through the process.
