Physical Education

Healthy. Active. Mind & Body

Physical Education is the heartbeat of academy life…..

It is our responsibility to ensure that at the academy we offer an enjoyable, exciting and engaging curriculum based on a range of individual and team activities which teaches the importance of 'fair play' and the place of PE in a healthy active lifestyle.

We aim to help create/mould confident, resilient young people who develop a range of transferable, lifelong skills as well as a concrete foundation and enthusiasm for examination courses at KS4 and 5.

Every student in KS3 and KS4 receives two hours of core PE a week where they will take part in a range of different team and individual sports, where they will learn fundamental sports specific skills and transferrable skills through practical and leadership opportunities that can be used in a range of opportunities in life. We also offer Level 2 Tech Award in Sport/BTEC Sport (Pearson Edexcel) and GCSE PE (AQA) for KS4 and BTEC Sport (various qualification sizes) and A Level PE (AQA) in KS5. We offer a range of enrichment opportunities for the students, including extra-curricular clubs and fixtures and tournaments with local schools.
