Library News: A New Chapter Begins

Student Librarian Recruitment

This term saw another fantastic round of recruitment for our Student Librarian Team – and the response was incredible! We were thrilled to welcome a wave of enthusiastic applicants, as well as retain four of last year’s librarians, who have shown exceptional leadership, confidence, and commitment.

Our returning librarians took on key responsibilities in this year’s process, helping to shortlist applications, conduct interviews, and select successful candidates. The standard was impressively high – applicants gave thoughtful, creative answers, making the final decisions far from easy!

After much discussion, the team proudly announced this year’s new Student Librarians: Noor, Dhiya, Dwarakesh, Sanjana, Jasmine, Reyaah, Mir, Ananya, and Shayan.

Each librarian will help in the library once a week on a rota, taking an active role in organising and running events throughout the year. Their dedication ensures the library remains a welcoming, inspiring, and well-run space for all students.

Scholastic Book Fair Success

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our recent Scholastic Book Fair – it was a brilliant success! Thanks to the enthusiasm of our students, the encouragement of our teachers, and the generosity of our parents and carers, we raised £128 to spend on brand-new books for the library.

Your support helps us keep our shelves stocked with fresh, exciting reads and continues to nurture a love of reading across the school.

Did you know we also run a Scholastic Book Club? Families can order from a huge range of titles online, with free delivery to school for students to collect. Every order also earns rewards for our library, meaning every book purchased helps fill our shelves with even more great stories to discover.
