This term has been packed with hands-on learning and scientific exploration for our Sixth Form students. Year 13 Chemistry students successfully completed their Making Aspirin required practical, applying their understanding of organic synthesis to produce and test this important compound.

Meanwhile, Physics students tackled the fascinating topic of radioactivity through their required practical, gaining valuable insight into nuclear decay and detection methods.

Our Year 12 Chemistry students also reached an important milestone by completing their very first required practical of the course, laying a strong foundation for the experimental skills they will continue to develop.

These experiences have not only strengthened students’ theoretical knowledge but have also built confidence in practical work – an essential component of success at A Level.

Chemistry Polymer Competition – Student Leadership in Action

A special thank you to Elham in Year 8 for taking on the important role of judging our Chemistry Polymer Competition. This challenge tasked our Year 13 students with creating the longest and most well-structured polymer material – a true test of skill, precision, and teamwork.

Elham’s keen eye and thoughtful evaluation helped make the event a great success, and we are incredibly grateful for her contribution.

Looking Ahead

Next term promises even more exciting opportunities for our KS5 learners. Year 13 students will deepen their mastery of advanced topics as they prepare for final assessments, while Year 12 students will continue building their practical portfolio with experiments that challenge their analytical and problem-solving skills.

Across all subjects, we will maintain a strong focus on exam technique and independent learning, ensuring every student is equipped to achieve their full potential.
