Across Key Stage 3, students have been building strong foundations in both human and physical geography, exploring a wide range of engaging and thought-provoking topics, including:

  • Population and the challenges of a changing world

  • Living off Earth’s resources and making sustainable decisions

  • Extreme environments and how people survive in harsh conditions

  • An introduction to global development and why inequality exists

  • The biosphere and how ecosystems function – and why they matter

  • Climate hazards and how risk can be managed

At Key Stage 4, our GCSE students have been working through some of the most important themes in modern geography, developing both knowledge and real-world understanding:

  • Tectonic hazards and real-world case studies

  • Development and the factors shaping quality of life

  • UK physical environments, including rivers and coasts

  • The challenges of an urbanising world and what sustainable cities can look like

  • Coastal fieldwork, developing vital enquiry skills such as data collection, pattern analysis, and drawing conclusions

At Key Stage 5, A Level students have been grappling with complex systems and global connections, demonstrating impressive analytical thinking through:

  • Tectonic hazards in greater depth, including advanced decision-making

  • Globalisation and the winners and losers of interconnected economies

  • Water and Carbon Cycles, exploring stores, flows, and feedback

  • Health, including inequality and the social factors shaping outcomes

  • NEA fieldwork, as students plan, investigate, and write up independent geographical research
