Our Year 10 students have been taking part in an inspiring personal development programme led by Harry Paige and the YES Futures Team, and it’s been wonderful to see how much they’ve grown. Through a series of 1:1 coaching sessions, students explored their interests, discussed future ambitions, and developed key skills including confidence, resilience, communication, and self-awareness. Their coaches helped them reflect on their goals and consider the steps needed to achieve them, giving each student a valuable sense of direction.

A highlight of the programme was the Into the Wild Day at Walton Firs Activity Centre. Students pushed themselves in activities such as rock climbing, fire lighting, caving, and archery, all while strengthening their teamwork and problem-solving skills. The sense of accomplishment at the end of the day was unmistakable.

The World of Work trip offered another exciting opportunity. Students visited the London Stock Exchange (LSEG) in Paternoster Square, where they worked in teams to design their own apps before pitching their ideas to LSEG colleagues. Mr Spilsbury was extremely impressed by the maturity, creativity, and confidence our students demonstrated throughout the day.

With such a successful experience for Year 10, we’re thrilled that next term, our KS3 students in Years 7, 8 and 9 will have the chance to take part in similar activities. We can’t wait to see what they achieve.
