Football, Table Tennis and Competitive Spirit Across the Academy
Back
It has been a busy and competitive period for our sports teams, with students showing resilience, determination and teamwork across a range of fixtures.
Our Year 8 football team were involved in a thrilling 6–5 match against Dedworth Middle School, demonstrating fantastic attacking intent throughout. Luke B scored a sensational free kick, while Vindiv W made a series of outstanding saves to keep the team in contention. Despite the narrow result, the squad’s effort and attitude were exceptional.
The Year 9 team faced strong opposition in fixtures against Windsor Boys and Burnham Grammar. While results did not go their way, the players showed resilience, commitment and teamwork in challenging conditions, continuing to compete with determination until the final whistle.
Year 10 football showed tremendous character this term. The team battled bravely in difficult conditions against Burnham Grammar, secured a well-deserved league victory against Lynch Hill, and progressed to the next round of the cup with an impressive win over Long Close. Their perseverance, teamwork and growing confidence have been particularly pleasing to see.
In table tennis, both KS3 and KS4 teams competed against a strong Al Madani side. The KS3 team showed resilience across 120 games, while KS4 delivered a much closer performance, narrowly losing the overall tie. Standout performances from Noble and Aryan highlighted the team’s progress and determination.
