Our Year 9 girls shone during a gymnastics competition at Beechwood School, where they took part in floor routines, vaulting and trampette work. The judges praised their enthusiasm, teamwork and willingness to try new skills, and the visit provided a valuable opportunity to build confidence and resilience. The students were a real credit to the academy and returned feeling proud and motivated.

Year 10 GCSE PE students also enjoyed an inspiring visit to St Mary’s University as part of their aspirations programme. They toured the campus, explored high-performance fitness testing equipment and took part in workshops analysing biomechanics, marginal gains and athletic performance. The day concluded with a lecture on anticipation in sport, providing a fantastic blend of academic insight and practical learning.

We are also incredibly proud of our PE teacher, Ms Mackenzie, who has officially signed for Fulham FC Women. Her professional journey across elite clubs and her recent debut goal in a dramatic 3–2 victory against Norwich City is a remarkable achievement. Ms Mackenzie continues to inspire students daily with her passion, dedication and commitment both on the pitch and in the classroom. Her success is a powerful example of where hard work, resilience and love for sport can lead, and the whole school community will be cheering her on in this exciting new chapter.
