Year 7 Shine Through Achievement, Community and Cultural Celebration

We are pleased to share an update on the recent activities and achievements within the Year 7 cohort. It has been a productive and enriching period for our students, who continue to demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment and a strong sense of community.

Positive Relationships Workshop

Year 7 students recently participated in a Positive Relationships workshop designed to support their understanding of respectful communication, healthy friendships and positive social interactions. Students engaged thoughtfully throughout the sessions and demonstrated maturity in their discussions.

Excellence in Sparx Maths and Science

We are delighted to report that Year 7 currently sits at the top of the school table for Sparx Maths and Science homework completion. This is an excellent achievement and reflects the hard work, dedication and consistency shown by our students. We are grateful for the continued support provided by families at home.

Fundraising for Great Ormond Street Hospital

Students also took part in the annual Penny Line competition, raising funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital. Their generosity, teamwork and enthusiasm contributed to an impressive total, and we are proud of their commitment to supporting such an important cause.

Culture Day Celebrations

Culture Day was a vibrant celebration of the diversity within our school community. Year 7 students enthusiastically took part in the parade, wore traditional clothing and shared food representing their cultural heritage. Their participation helped make the event a memorable and meaningful occasion for everyone involved.

Online Safety and Monitoring Student Activity

As part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding, we would like to remind parents and carers of the importance of monitoring students' online activity at home. With young people increasingly accessing digital platforms for learning, communication and entertainment, it is essential that they do so safely and responsibly.

We encourage families to:

• Regularly review privacy and security settings on devices and apps
• Discuss appropriate online behaviour and the importance of reporting concerns
• Monitor screen time and the types of content being accessed
• Ensure students are using age-appropriate platforms

Our school continues to educate students about digital citizenship and online safety, and we greatly appreciate your partnership in reinforcing these important messages at home.
