A Fantastic Term in Performing Arts & Media
Back
It has been a fantastic term in Performing Arts, with students across all year groups engaging creatively and producing some outstanding work in both Drama and Music.
Drama
Year 7 have been exploring Greek Theatre, learning about its origins and key conventions. As part of their practical work, they have created some brilliant Greek theatre masks.
Year 8 are developing their own murder mystery plays and have shown great imagination in devising plots, characters and dinner-party themed invitations. Their creativity has truly shone, and we have thoroughly enjoyed receiving their fantastic invites.
Year 9 students are studying theatrical practitioners such as Brecht and are developing the performance techniques needed as they move towards GCSE.
If your child is interested in GCSE Drama, please contact Ms Brown to discuss the course or any questions you may have.
Music
Year 7 are studying Superhero Music and have been developing their keyboard skills with excellent enthusiasm and progress.
Year 8 are learning about the instruments of the orchestra, exploring how each section works, and studying key composers including Vivaldi, Beethoven and Dvořák.
Year 9 have completed their compositions, producing some standout pieces of work. Well done to all students involved!
If your child is considering GCSE Music, please contact Ms Brown for more information.

Winterfest 2026
What an incredible evening! Our students from Year 7 all the way to Year 13 lit up the stage with performances ranging from “Walking in a Winter Wonderland” to energetic bhangra, soulful Jorja Smith pieces, and stunning classical works such as “Turkish March”.
Every performer brought passion, confidence and pure joy to the stage. We could not be prouder. Thank you to everyone who came to support and celebrate our amazing young musicians!
